Provides opportunities for teachers to expose emergent and fluent readers to books, and to teach reading skills and strategies to readers who are farther along in their literacy journeys. Includes lessons for 50 big books (both fiction and nonfiction) that can be used with any range of reading levels. Each lesson contains a summary of the big book, a five-day lesson plan, a two-day lesson plan, before-, during-, and after-reading activities, and other books and activities designed to extend the big book.
