Light and Color (4-6) contains 34 hands-on experiments designed to help students gain an appreciation for light as they get to know it and its property of color. Refraction, symmetry, mirrors, and lenses are introduced as students learn how light is manipulated. Students will also learn about their eyes and how light allows us to see.
Activities in this book follow the scientific method. Each activity outlines a purpose, describes the materials needed, and has step-by-step directions on how to carry out the activity. Many activities also provide helpful background information for the teacher. This information helps the teacher feel more confident with the activities and enables him or her to answer questions and lead discussions. |
